Звернення Держкіно до організаторів Toronto International Film Festival

Державне агентство України з питань кіно щиро дякує організаторам та керівництву Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) за підтримку та можливість представити Український стенд, українське кіно на світовій арені. Ваші зусилля та професіоналізм створюють унікальну платформу для обміну культурними досягненнями та встановлення нових партнерських зв’язків. Ми вдячні за надану можливість бути частиною цього престижного кінофестивалю та сподіваємося на подальшу плідну співпрацю.

Ми звертаємось до  організаторів Toronto International Film Festival з проханням (TIFF) переглянути своє рішення та виключити з програми фільм під назвою «Russians in War», щоб не надавати платформу для пропаганди, яка виправдовує агресію.

Це фільм, який намагається зобразити агресорів як жертв, є небезпечним інструментом маніпуляції громадською думкою та має на меті перекласти відповідальність за злочини, вчинені російськими військовими, на інші сторони. Подібні дії не лише спотворюють реальність, але й загрожують міжнародному правопорядку та сприяють поширенню дезінформації.

We appeal to the organizers of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to reconsider their decision and exclude the film Russians in War from the program in order not to provide a platform for propaganda that justifies aggression.

In trying to portray the aggressors as victims, this film is in fact a dangerous tool for public opinion manipulation aiming to foist the responsibility for the crimes committed by the Russian military off on other parties. Such actions not only distort the reality, but also threaten the international legal order and contribute to the spread of disinformation.
